Little things
On Saturday I have done a lot of little things, so I have not much pictures … Thanks to my fellow garage neighbor, I was able to sandblast the small sheet metal parts from the passenger side inner quarter panel. So they are ready to put them back in.
More body work
Today I ended up removing everything inside of the RH quarter panel. So I removed the RH trunk extension including all the reinforcement. I also removed the RH trunk gutter. Unfortunately I found a lot of rust at the RH trunk gutter and deck filler panel, so I have to decide if I patch it […]
I like to kill a certain engineer
That one who engineered this fu***** lower quarter panel to rocker panel area ! This is insanely stupid ! Between the (inner) rocker panel and the lower quarter panel is gap (a couple millimeters) and of course both sheet metals are not primed or sealed … So everything kann fall into this gap (also water) […]
Epoxy on sandblasted parts

Sandblasted parts …

Wheel well blues
After the removal of the inner wheel well, I removed the outer wheel well … Unfortunately I was not so happy what I found there.
RH wheel well part 2
Today I built a extension for the car lift, so I have the body in balance … After that I started drilling out the spot welds from the outer wheel well ! See the R for right stamped into the wheel well – nice detail.
RH rear inner wheel well
Today I removed the inner wheel well on the passenger side. Not because it is rusted, no I will mini tub it later. But it should look factory later 😉 …
Cowl area disassembly
Today (fathers day in Germany), I finished the disaasembly of the cowl area. After disassemlby, I cleaned the rusty areas, removed the body sealant. After all that I used Fertan (rust converter) to remove the deeper sitting rust … to be continued.
Cowl area …
… after hours of cleaning the garage – I finally had some time to start the bode work. So I started to remove the top cowl sheet metal. After destroying 5 drill bits for spot weld removal, I had to stop at this point … I hope I can finish it next week.
